Babymoon Staycation at the Viceroy Chicago Hotel

We checked into the Viceroy Chicago for some much need pre-baby R&R.

You might remember we went on a trip to Italy this fall, but with the craziness of the holidays and preparing for baby C we wanted to take some time just for us. We were so excited to partner with the Viceroy Chicago for a babymoon staycation.

As much as I love to travel, Chicago is my #1 city and it’s always refreshing to experience my beloved city in a new light. A staycation was the perfect way to get reacquainted with one of my favorite neighborhoods and spend some QT with Kevin before baby Cassman makes her debut!

The Viceroy Chicago property fits perfectly in the Gold Coast. It’s the perfect mix of classic architecture and modern decor with touches of luxury. The hotel has an intimate rooftop bar , a delicious restaurant (both from the Boka group), a pool up in the sky, gorgeous interiors and the most accommodating staff. When can I move in?

Our room had the most incredible view of the hustle and bustle of the city with the lakefront as a backdrop – the perfect juxtaposition. We never tired of staring out of the floor to ceiling window views. Our suite was spacious and complete design eye candy. I couldn’t get enough of the combo of marble, brass and pops of rich hues.Viceroy Hotel ChicagoThe sweetest welcome treat.Even the views from the bathroom were breathtaking, which may of been my favorite part of our room. In full babymoon staycation mode. Quick bathroom selfie before dinner at Somerset.Somerset ChicagoThe ground floor of the Viceroy is home to Somerset a restaurant serving seasonal American cuisine with a country club vibe. The interiors are absolutely gorgeous with a mix of high ceilings, art deco light fixtures and country club chic decor giving the restaurant a chic yet warm feeling .

We loved the brussel sprouts and kale salad, taglionli, seared bass and roasted duck breast. For dessert we indulged in the chocolate bar which tasted like a homemade snickers bar, made up of brownie, nutty caramel, milk chocolate chai ice cream.

We relaxed and had a slow Sunday morning. Treasuring moments like this.SomersetChicagoBrunchThe next morning, we went back to Somerset for round two. The restaurant is just as beautiful during the day as it is at night with the natural daylight shinning through. To start, we were given delicious pastries and then noshed on the avocado toast and french toast. Our babymoon staycation was absolute perfection and just what we needed before bebe’s arrival. We can’t wait to visit the Viceroy again soon. I especially can’t wait to try that rooftop bar, mama needs a cocktail!
