Favorite Podcast Episodes {vol II}

I’ve got a whole slew of new podcasts faves for you all! Here are 7 of the best podcast episodes I listened to last month that I think you may like too!

Oprah Super Soul Conversations – Oprah & Michelle Obama: Your Life in Focus
I could listen to Michelle Obama speak for hours. That woman is so incredibly wise and we can all learn something from her. I love when Oprah interviews her, they have great chemistry together.  Michelle discusses her book, life as an empty nester and her marriage rough patches with Barack. It was a conversation that I didn’t want to end.

Second Life – Katie Sturino: Megababe Founder and CEO, Influencer, and Body-Positivity Advocate
I use and love Megababe Rosy Pits natural deodorant, because I was influenced by Heather McMahon to start using it. Other than that, I didn’t know the story behind the brand and loved hearing Katie’s career path. She’s from a small town in Wisconsin and while in college landed herself a PR internship at Chanel without any experience in fashion, it was her persistence to HR that landed her the gig. Her story of influence and creating Megababe is fascinating and worth a listen!

Goop – New Midlife Crisis
This episode discussed how women (particularly generation X) have taken on the stresses of caregiving, building a successful career and having enough money. There is discussion on why many of us live in a state of fear and anxiety and how we can support ourselves and others to shift away from this mindset. My favorite message from the discussion was the sentiment of saying we “can do anything” doesn’t mean we have to do everything. Amen to that!

Absolutely Not – Cartier Bamboozlement
Heather McMahon is one  my favorite comedians and always makes me LOL. I love her IG stories and podcast series, Absolutely Not. Heather tells the story of her “cartier bamboozlement” with her fiancé and it’s a male moment I think we all can have a good laugh at.

L.A. Times – Chasing Cosby
A 6-part podcast series from L.A. Times investigative reporter, Nicki Weisensee, where she sheds light on the Bill Cosby case. I learned this whole movement was led by Andrea Constand who carried the burden of being the only one of the 60-plus accusers whose case could be tried in a court of law. Andrea tells her side of the story along with firsthand accounts from more than a dozen survivors, jurors and prosecutors. This podcast series really highlights the rise and fall of Bill Cosby.

Juicy Scoop with Heather McDonald – Carole Radziwill, Housewives, Princes, Moviestars and Chefs
I’m a pretty devoted Real Housewife fan. My favorite franchises are Beverly Hills & NY, so I always love when Heather interviews one of my gals. Carole is an NY alum and she touches on all of the things listed in the title of her episode. She also dives into her relationship with Bethenny and Tinsley which as a super fan, I loved hearing about. Carole is exactly the same in the podcast conversation as she was portrayed in RHONY. It’s a fun listen for any housewives fan!

How to Decorate – Lighting Basics
This podcast series from the Ballard Designs team is one of my favorites! The hosts pow wow on their decorating trials & tribulations and interview talented experts in the subject. This particular episode is exactly what it says lighting basics, with Ballard’s lighting experts Valerie and Roger. This duo creates all of the light fixtures for the brand and I learned that so much more than design goes into the process of creating a light fixture. I loved learning about how light impacts a space, how many light sources a space should have and the rules for wattage & color of our bulbs. It’s not one of their sexier episodes, but the episode is something I didn’t even know I wanted to learn about until I listened.

P.s. Here are my favorite January podcast listens.
