Favorite Podcast Episodes {vol III}

I am a podcast addict. I always have my AirPods in while I am doing things around my house. I love episodes where I can learn something, change my perspective or hear an interview from someone new. Below are 5 podcast episodes that I think are worth a listen! You can see previous posts highlighting my favorite podcast episodes here & here.

The Skinny Confidential – Ramit Sethi Will Teach You To Be Rich, Renting vs. Buying, Saving & Financial Freedom
The title of the episode gives insight into how much information is covered. My favorite part of the conversation was Ramit telling you to really visualize how you want your life to look and get granular to unlock what your “rich life” means to you. Does it mean financial freedom to travel however you want? If so, what are you seat are you in the airplane? Where you are going? Who are you with? What are you wearing? I am flying first class in a little pod with a window seat and a glass of bubbly in hand. He also debunks some myths that we have all been taught to believe lead to financial success. It’s one of those episodes that’s beneficial to listen to more than once.

Oprah Super Soul – Bob Iger: The Ride Of A Lifetime
I have to admit I didn’t know who Bob Iger was prior to listening to this episode and I became a fan very quickly. Bob was the CEO of Disney for 15 years and this episode shares stories of his leadership, obstacles he faced and insight into his special relationship with Steve Jobs. His words brought me to tears and I immediately bought his book, The Ride Of A Lifetime.

The World’s First Podcast with Erin & Sara Foster – How To Talk About Things That Make You Uncomfortable with the ShrinkChicks
This was a great discussion between the Foster sisters and the ShrinkChicks talking about the importance of therapy, toxic femininity and scarcity mindset. We as women are told to downplay our success and we need to learn how to share our accomplishments with our friends and change our mentality to community over competition. The ladies also have a very candid conversation about sex and it’s one you’d want to be a fly on the wall for.

Oprah Super Soul – Iyanla: Finding Yourself and the One You Want
This is an Oprah episode from 1998 and it’s an amazing conversation. Iyanla talks about how to love yourself and how to change your belief system about yourself. She believes if you don’t heal the wounds of your past, you will continue to bleed if you can’t accept things that have happened to you. One of my favorite takeaways was that Iyanla says to make a list about the things in your life you can accept and those you are willing to experience. This helped me gain clarity that the things that have happened to me, don’t define me and these are the things that make us who we are. I suggest listening to this episode and getting out a paper and pen to do this exercise. For me, it was a really helpful shift in perspective!

Crain’s Daily Gist Pharmacy Workers Feel The Burnout Too
This podcast always goes deeper on our local headlines and I love learning about new things in our city. I thought this episode was particularly interesting because pharmacists are front line works that we don’t always hear about and the insight provided left me with greater appreciation for my local pharmacist. I enthusiastically thanked my local pharmacist during my flu shot appointment and reiterated how appreciative I am for all they are doing to help keep our communities healthy.
